October 23, 2009 Lose A Bet? Stone Up!Filed under: Uncategorized Fantasy football is something that we here in Editorial hold very near and dear to our hearts. Every year at least half a dozen of us go in on a league and spend a few months talking trash, acting like sports GMs and, most importantly, making side bets. One side bet this year: the team with the highest overall points for the week gets to dole out a humiliating, yet fitting punishment to the team with the overall lowest points for the week. The loser has to either take that bet, or buy a round of beer during our Friday Fantasy Football luncheons. And so far, the punishment proposals have been so over-the-top that all the losers so far have just bought the rounds … until this week. Being the week’s overall loser for the first time, and having an undying devotion to the New York Yankees, it was only fitting that my punishment be to don the paraphernalia of the team the Yankees will most likely have to play in the World Series! That’s right, me, a die-hard Yankees fan, dressed in Phillies gear! And like the man that I am, I took the bet. And here’s the result:
